Overview
HanChin is a language exchange and learning platform focused on Sino-Korean vocabulary. Beyond vocabulary study, HanChin provides messaging, voice & video calling, community chat rooms, AI-powered translation, and OCR text recognition — all designed to help users practice and improve their language skills.
Account & Authentication
- Account required: You must create an account (via Google or Apple sign-in) to access messaging, calls, community chat, and premium features.
- Data collected: Display name, email address, profile photo URL, and authentication provider identifier.
- Purpose: To identify you within the app, enable friend connections, and synchronize your data across devices.
Messaging & Direct Chat
HanChin allows users to send text, images, voice messages, and video clips to friends for language exchange purposes.
- Data collected: Messages (text, media files), timestamps, read receipts, and sender/receiver identifiers.
- Storage: Messages are stored on Firebase servers to enable real-time delivery and synchronization across devices.
- Media files: Images, voice messages, and videos sent in chat are uploaded to cloud storage and accessible only to chat participants.
- Encryption: All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). Messages are stored on secure cloud servers with access controlled by security rules.
- Translation: Premium users may translate messages using AI. Only the text content is sent to the translation service; no user identity information is shared.
Voice & Video Calls
HanChin provides voice and video calling between users for language practice.
- Microphone & Camera: Access is required only during active calls and is requested at the time of the call.
- Technology: Calls use WebRTC for peer-to-peer communication. TURN relay servers may be used when direct connection is not possible.
- No recording: HanChin does not record or store voice/video call content.
- Call metadata: Call initiation time, duration, and participant IDs may be logged for push notification delivery and debugging purposes.
Community Chat
HanChin provides community chat rooms where users can exchange messages, share learning experiences, and help each other with vocabulary and language skills.
- Account required: You must sign in to participate in community chat.
- Data collected: Messages, usernames, profile photos, and timestamps are stored to provide the chat service.
- Content visibility: Messages posted in community chat rooms are visible to other room members.
- Moderation: We may review content to ensure compliance with our Community Guidelines.
- Reporting: Users can report inappropriate content or behavior for review.
- Data retention: Chat messages may be retained for moderation and service improvement purposes.
AI Translation & Voice Translation
HanChin uses the Google Gemini API (via Firebase Cloud Functions) to provide AI-powered features including:
- Chat message translation (text and voice messages)
- Voice translation on the home screen
- Word meaning lookup in the vocabulary notebook
- AI-powered vocabulary import from images and text
- Data sent: Only the message text, voice audio, or vocabulary input is sent to the Google Gemini API for processing. No personal identifiers, user profiles, or conversation metadata is included.
- User consent: Before any data is sent to the AI service for the first time, the app displays a consent dialog that clearly explains what data will be shared, who receives it (Google Gemini API), and that data is processed for translation only. Users must explicitly agree before any data is transmitted.
- No permanent storage: Data sent to the Gemini API is processed in real time and is not permanently stored by the AI service.
- Voice translation: Audio recordings from the voice translation feature are temporarily processed to extract text, which is then translated. Audio data is not permanently stored.
- Rate limiting: Translation usage is rate-limited per user.
- Translation cache: Translated results may be cached locally to improve performance. Cached data does not contain personal information.
Camera & Photos Access (OCR)
When you scan or import an image, the app may request access to your camera or photo library to recognize Korean text.
- Purpose-limited: Access is used only to recognize text for learning.
- On-device processing: OCR is performed locally on your device.
- Text-only transmission: If translation features are used, only the recognized text may be transmitted; images are not.
- No image retention: Images are not stored on external servers and remain only temporarily in memory during processing.
- No identification: Images are not used for user identification or personal profiling.
Push Notifications
- Purpose: Push notifications are used to alert you about new messages, incoming calls, and other important events.
- Data: Your device push notification token (FCM/APNs) is stored to deliver notifications. It is not shared with third parties.
- Control: You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
Friends & Contacts
- Friend system: You can add other users as friends using their email address or invite code. We do not access your device contacts.
- Data stored: Friend connections (user IDs) are stored to enable messaging and calling features.
- Blocking: You can block users to prevent them from contacting you.
Advertising
HanChin may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. These services may process limited technical information for ad delivery and measurement purposes.
- No personal content (such as photos, messages, or learning data) is shared with advertisers.
- You can limit or reset your advertising identifier through your device settings.
- Premium subscribers may have advertisements removed.
Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
HanChin offers the following optional subscription plans:
- Premium Monthly: Monthly subscription with full premium benefits.
- Premium Yearly: Yearly subscription with full premium benefits.
- Premium 2-Person (Couple): Yearly subscription that provides premium benefits for two users via an invite code.
- Promotional plans: Special discounted plans offered through official channels.
- We do not collect or store payment details.
- We may receive confirmation that a subscription is active or expired to enable or disable premium benefits.
- Subscription status is associated with your signed-in account to allow restoration on other devices, subject to platform policies.
Data Storage & Retention
- Cloud data: Account information, chat messages, friend lists, vocabulary notebooks (if synced), and premium status are stored on Firebase servers.
- Local data: Learning history, OCR processing, cached translations, and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Media: User-uploaded media (avatars, chat images/videos/voice messages) are stored on secure cloud storage.
- Deletion: You may request account deletion by contacting us. Upon deletion, all associated data will be removed from our servers within 30 days.

HanChin uses the following third-party services:

Children's Privacy
HanChin is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

HanChin là nền tảng trao đổi và học ngôn ngữ, tập trung vào từ vựng Hán Hàn. Ngoài việc học từ vựng, HanChin cung cấp tính năng nhắn tin, gọi thoại & video, phòng chat cộng đồng, dịch thuật AI, và nhận dạng chữ (OCR) — tất cả nhằm giúp người dùng thực hành và nâng cao kỹ năng ngôn ngữ.
Tài khoản & Xác thực
- Yêu cầu tài khoản: Bạn cần tạo tài khoản (qua Google hoặc Apple) để sử dụng tính năng nhắn tin, gọi điện, chat cộng đồng và các tính năng premium.
- Dữ liệu thu thập: Tên hiển thị, địa chỉ email, ảnh đại diện, và mã định danh nhà cung cấp xác thực.
- Mục đích: Để nhận diện bạn trong ứng dụng, kết nối bạn bè, và đồng bộ dữ liệu giữa các thiết bị.
Nhắn tin & Chat trực tiếp
HanChin cho phép người dùng gửi văn bản, hình ảnh, tin nhắn thoại và video clip cho bạn bè để trao đổi ngôn ngữ.
- Dữ liệu thu thập: Tin nhắn (văn bản, file media), thời gian, trạng thái đã đọc, và mã định danh người gửi/nhận.
- Lưu trữ: Tin nhắn được lưu trên máy chủ Firebase để đảm bảo gửi/nhận thời gian thực và đồng bộ giữa các thiết bị.
- File media: Hình ảnh, tin nhắn thoại và video trong chat được tải lên bộ nhớ đám mây, chỉ người tham gia trò chuyện mới truy cập được.
- Mã hóa: Tất cả dữ liệu được truyền qua kết nối mã hóa (TLS/SSL). Tin nhắn được lưu trữ trên máy chủ đám mây bảo mật với quyền truy cập được kiểm soát.
- Dịch thuật: Người dùng Premium có thể dịch tin nhắn bằng AI. Chỉ nội dung văn bản được gửi đến dịch vụ dịch thuật; không chia sẻ thông tin cá nhân.
Gọi thoại & Video
HanChin cung cấp tính năng gọi thoại và video giữa người dùng để thực hành ngôn ngữ.
- Micro & Camera: Quyền truy cập chỉ được yêu cầu khi đang trong cuộc gọi.
- Công nghệ: Cuộc gọi sử dụng WebRTC để kết nối trực tiếp giữa các thiết bị. Máy chủ TURN relay có thể được sử dụng khi không thể kết nối trực tiếp.
- Không ghi âm: HanChin không ghi âm hay lưu trữ nội dung cuộc gọi.
- Thông tin cuộc gọi: Thời gian bắt đầu, thời lượng và ID người tham gia có thể được ghi nhận cho mục đích gửi thông báo và xử lý sự cố.
Chat cộng đồng
HanChin cung cấp phòng chat cộng đồng để người dùng trao đổi, chia sẻ kinh nghiệm học tập và hỗ trợ nhau về từ vựng và kỹ năng ngôn ngữ.
- Yêu cầu tài khoản: Bạn cần đăng nhập để tham gia chat cộng đồng.
- Dữ liệu thu thập: Tin nhắn, tên người dùng, ảnh đại diện và thời gian được lưu trữ để cung cấp dịch vụ chat.
- Hiển thị nội dung: Tin nhắn trong phòng chat cộng đồng hiển thị cho các thành viên khác trong phòng.
- Kiểm duyệt: Chúng tôi có thể xem xét nội dung để đảm bảo tuân thủ Nguyên tắc cộng đồng.
- Báo cáo: Người dùng có thể báo cáo nội dung hoặc hành vi không phù hợp để được xem xét.
- Lưu trữ: Tin nhắn chat có thể được lưu giữ cho mục đích kiểm duyệt và cải thiện dịch vụ.
Dịch thuật AI & Dịch giọng nói
HanChin sử dụng Google Gemini API (qua Firebase Cloud Functions) để cung cấp các tính năng AI bao gồm:
- Dịch tin nhắn chat (văn bản và tin nhắn thoại)
- Dịch giọng nói trên màn hình chính
- Tra nghĩa từ trong sổ từ vựng
- Nhập từ vựng bằng AI từ ảnh và văn bản
- Dữ liệu gửi đi: Chỉ nội dung tin nhắn, âm thanh giọng nói, hoặc dữ liệu từ vựng được gửi đến Google Gemini API để xử lý. Không bao gồm thông tin định danh cá nhân, hồ sơ người dùng hay metadata cuộc trò chuyện.
- Sự đồng ý của người dùng: Trước khi gửi dữ liệu đến dịch vụ AI lần đầu tiên, ứng dụng hiển thị hộp thoại xin phép giải thích rõ dữ liệu nào được chia sẻ, ai nhận dữ liệu (Google Gemini API), và dữ liệu chỉ được xử lý cho mục đích dịch thuật. Người dùng phải đồng ý rõ ràng trước khi dữ liệu được truyền đi.
- Không lưu trữ vĩnh viễn: Dữ liệu gửi đến Gemini API được xử lý theo thời gian thực và không được dịch vụ AI lưu trữ vĩnh viễn.
- Dịch giọng nói: Bản ghi âm từ tính năng dịch giọng nói được xử lý tạm thời để trích xuất văn bản, sau đó dịch. Dữ liệu âm thanh không được lưu trữ vĩnh viễn.
- Giới hạn: Số lượt dịch được giới hạn cho mỗi người dùng.
- Bộ nhớ đệm: Kết quả dịch có thể được cache cục bộ để cải thiện hiệu suất. Dữ liệu cache không chứa thông tin cá nhân.
Quyền truy cập Máy ảnh & Ảnh (OCR)
Khi bạn chụp hoặc chọn ảnh, ứng dụng có thể yêu cầu quyền truy cập chỉ để nhận dạng chữ tiếng Hàn.
- Đúng mục đích: Chỉ dùng cho việc nhận dạng chữ phục vụ học tập.
- Xử lý trên thiết bị: OCR được xử lý trực tiếp trên máy.
- Chỉ gửi văn bản: Nếu sử dụng chức năng dịch, chỉ phần chữ được nhận dạng có thể được truyền đi.
- Không lưu ảnh: Ảnh không được lưu trữ trên máy chủ bên ngoài.
- Không định danh: Không sử dụng ảnh để nhận dạng hay theo dõi người dùng.
Thông báo đẩy
- Mục đích: Thông báo đẩy được sử dụng để thông báo về tin nhắn mới, cuộc gọi đến và các sự kiện quan trọng khác.
- Dữ liệu: Token thông báo thiết bị (FCM/APNs) được lưu trữ để gửi thông báo. Không chia sẻ cho bên thứ ba.
- Kiểm soát: Bạn có thể tắt thông báo bất cứ lúc nào trong cài đặt thiết bị.
Bạn bè & Liên hệ
- Hệ thống bạn bè: Bạn có thể thêm bạn bè bằng email hoặc mã mời. Chúng tôi không truy cập danh bạ thiết bị.
- Dữ liệu lưu trữ: Kết nối bạn bè (ID người dùng) được lưu để hỗ trợ tính năng nhắn tin và gọi điện.
- Chặn: Bạn có thể chặn người dùng khác để ngăn họ liên lạc với bạn.
Quảng cáo
Ứng dụng có thể hiển thị quảng cáo từ các mạng quảng cáo bên thứ ba. Các dịch vụ này có thể sử dụng một số dữ liệu kỹ thuật giới hạn để phân phối và đo lường quảng cáo.
- Không chia sẻ nội dung cá nhân (tin nhắn, ảnh, dữ liệu học tập) cho bên quảng cáo.
- Bạn có thể giới hạn hoặc đặt lại mã định danh quảng cáo trong cài đặt thiết bị.
- Người dùng Premium có thể được tắt quảng cáo.
Thuê bao & Mua trong ứng dụng
HanChin cung cấp các gói thuê bao tùy chọn sau:
- Premium 1 Tháng: Gói thuê bao hàng tháng với đầy đủ quyền lợi premium.
- Premium 1 Năm: Gói thuê bao hàng năm với đầy đủ quyền lợi premium.
- Premium 2 Người: Gói thuê bao hàng năm cung cấp quyền lợi premium cho hai người dùng thông qua mã mời.
- Gói ưu đãi: Các gói giảm giá đặc biệt được cung cấp qua kênh chính thức.
- Chúng tôi không thu thập hoặc lưu trữ thông tin thanh toán.
- Ứng dụng chỉ nhận trạng thái thuê bao (còn hiệu lực hoặc hết hạn) để bật hoặc tắt quyền lợi tương ứng.
- Quyền lợi thuê bao gắn với tài khoản đăng nhập để khôi phục trên thiết bị khác, theo chính sách của nền tảng.
Lưu trữ dữ liệu
- Dữ liệu đám mây: Thông tin tài khoản, tin nhắn, danh sách bạn bè, sổ từ vựng (nếu đồng bộ) và trạng thái premium được lưu trên máy chủ Firebase.
- Dữ liệu cục bộ: Lịch sử học tập, xử lý OCR, bản dịch đã cache và cài đặt ứng dụng được lưu trên thiết bị.
- Media: File media do người dùng tải lên (ảnh đại diện, ảnh/video/voice chat) được lưu trên bộ nhớ đám mây bảo mật.
- Xóa tài khoản: Bạn có thể yêu cầu xóa tài khoản bằng cách liên hệ chúng tôi. Sau khi xóa, toàn bộ dữ liệu liên quan sẽ được xóa khỏi máy chủ trong vòng 30 ngày.

Quyền riêng tư trẻ em
HanChin không dành cho trẻ em dưới 16 tuổi. Chúng tôi không cố ý thu thập thông tin cá nhân từ trẻ em dưới 16 tuổi. Nếu bạn cho rằng trẻ em dưới 16 tuổi đã cung cấp thông tin cá nhân cho chúng tôi, vui lòng liên hệ để chúng tôi xóa kịp thời.
